Assigning a Password Changer to a Secret Template

To assign any type of password changer to a Secret template, use the procedure below.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Secret Templates. The Secret Templates page appears.

  2. Click the name of the desired template in the list. The page for that template appears.

  3. Under the Mapping tab, click Edit next to the Password Changing section. The section becomes editable

  4. Click to select the Enable remote password changing check box. An editable section appears.

    This enables the feature, but auto RPC is set through policies or secret settings.

    Specify the following:

    • Remote password changing max attempts: The maximum number of times that Remote Password Changing will be attempted after failures.

    • Remote password changing interval days: The amount of time in days in between each remote password changing attempt.

    • Remote password changing interval hours: The amount of time in hours in between each remote password changing attempt.

    • Remote password changing interval minutes: The amount of time in minutes in between each remote password changing attempt.

    • Enable heartbeat: Enables heartbeat capability on Secrets of this template and features that support heartbeat.

    • Password type to use: Password type to use for RPC and Heartbeat. For this instruction, we chose Active Directory Account. New controls appear for that specific type.

  5. Click to select or type text for each item to configure your desired setup. For more on configuring your choice, refer to the applicable configuration in the RPC Overview section for details. For example, for Active Directory, go to Setting Minimum Permissions for AD RPC Service Accounts.

  6. When finished, click the Save button.
