Installation Notes

  • Privilege Manager exclusively supports operating systems (OS) that have not reached their official End of Support. For optimal performance and compatibility, it is recommended to utilize Privilege Manager on a supported and actively maintained OS.

  • Delinea recommends as a best practice to create system restore points prior to doing system changes such as patches.

Delinea supports the use of software versions up to a year prior to the current version. You can find previous versions of the documentation here.

Improvements

ID Release Notes
626971 Fixed an issue in the Windows Agent where the "Allow public or private networks to access this app" User Account Control (UAC) prompt was not working correctly when approved, preventing the network access permission from being applied as expected.
645906 Fixed an issue where user-facing JIT Elevated Access notifications were not appearing on Windows Server 2019 systems.
754434 Fixed an issue where .NET 4.8.1 was incorrectly required for Windows agent installation on the Windows Server 2019 operating system.
755107 Fixed an issue where the 13.0.0 agent was not installing if the LanMan server service was not running.
755158 Fixed an issue where Windows Input Method Editor (IME) was not properly interacting with Privilege Manager.
757712 Fixed an issue where after upgrading the Directory Services Agent to version 13, some components were not moved to the new C:\Program Files\Delinea\Privilege Manager\Agents folder structure.
757870 A change was made to how new processes are blocked from executing in user-mode during policy processing to prevent them from being prematurely "released" by spurious calls to the ResumeThread() Win32 API function.
760259 Fixed a regression in the 13.0.0 agent (build 13.0.1041) where the Remove Administrative Rights action failed with error 0x80070057, so targeted applications such as Office 365 still launched with administrator rights. In addition, when this action removes the Administrators group, the process now also loses its remaining administrator privileges and runs at Medium integrity, so it runs as a true standard user.
760615 Fixed an issue where upgrades from the Windows agent version 13.0.1041 to newer versions were not completing successfully.
761154 Fixed an issue where in certain situations, a short lived parent process could create child processes which would not get child actions applied to them for the policy which was applied to the parent process.
761544 Fixed an issue where a service "stop" operation that was in progress for "DPEACSvc" could result in an unhandled error occurring if the same operation was repeated. Improved error handling now prevents this from causing an uninstallation of the Application Control Agent from failing.
764912 Fixed an issue on Windows Server 2019 and 2022 where the first instantiation of a UAC in a logon session was not being properly intercepted, leading to the user being prompted with UAC.
