User Setup

After the bot is deployed, register a Webex space to receive approval cards and configure how approvers respond to requests.

Step 4 — Register a Webex Space

The bot needs to know which space to post approval requests to. You can register as many spaces as needed.

  1. In Webex, open the space where you want approval cards to appear.

  2. Add the bot to the space by inviting its email address — the <name>@webex.bot address from Step 1.

  3. Mention the bot in the space: @PrivMan Approvals (or whatever you named your bot) and send the message.

  4. The bot replies with a help message confirming the space has been registered.

Repeat this in each space you want to receive approval cards.

The bot also responds in direct (1:1) messages — no @mention is required there.

Step 5 — Approving and Denying Requests

Once a Privilege Manager elevation request is submitted, the bot posts an Adaptive Card to the registered space within 30 seconds.

The card shows:

  • Requester name and username

  • Computer name

  • Policy name

  • Application or command

  • Reason provided

To Approve a Request

  3. The card updates to show who approved it and for how long.
