Creating an Asset

Creating an asset uniquely ties a component of Orchestrator to a Secret within Secret Server. The asset name will be referenced in Studio/your Robot and the External Name configured in the asset will match the SecretID created in the previous steps.

  1. Log in to your UiPath Orchestrator account.

  2. Select Tenant to create a new folder and click Folders.

  3. Select the + (Plus) folder in the Manage Folders submenu and the New Folder window displays.

  4. Name the folder and select Create.

  5. Create an Asset within the folder. Click on the new folder you created which is now displayed on the left menu and click Assets.

  6. Select the + (Plus) folder and create a new asset:

    • The Asset Name can be anything. We recommend calling it something that either matches your secret name value or can be recognized as being associated with that Secret.

    • For Type choose “Credential”

    • For Credential Store choose your Secret Server Credential Store

    • Under Asset value click the Slider icon to activate Global Value and enter the SecretID that is associated with the Secret created earlier. The SecretID can be retrieved from the URL.

    • Select Create.
