Integrating Tenable Nessus Manager with Secret Server

Integrating Tenable with Secret Server provides a thorough authenticated scanning solution that offers security teams improved vulnerability insight for better protection of privileged accounts. This integration allows for the secure storage of privileged credentials in Thycotic Secret Server, and their automatic retrieval by Tenable at the time of scanning. This ensures that sensitive passwords are stored, controlled, audited, and easily changed without requiring manual intervention.

This integration works only with Secret Server Cloud and is not compatible with the Delinea Platform (Secret Server on the Delinea Platform).

This integration has the following benefits:

  • Store credentials in the Secret Server rather than managing and updating them directly within a Tenable solution.

  • Reduce the time and effort required to document credential storage within the organizational environment.

  • Automatically enforce security policies within specific departments or for specific business unit requirements, simplifying the compliance process.

  • Reduce the risk of unsecured privileged accounts and credentials throughout the enterprise.

This third-party integration does not natively support the Delinea Platform (Secret Server on the Delinea Platform). Once upgraded to the Delinea Platform, the integration will continue to function properly as long as the application account used for the integration remains in Secret Server. Once fully upgraded to the Platform service account model, the existing integration will no longer work with Secret Server on the Delinea Platform as all identity data will be moved to the Delinea Platform and will no longer be maintained in Secret Server.
