Verification

This topic provides steps to verify that the integration of Qualys with Secret Server retrieves the privilege account credentials from a specified secret in Secret Server to log in to a target computer and run a scan.

1. In Qualys, navigate to Scans > Scans > New > Scan or schedule a scan.

2. In the Launch Vulnerability Scan window, select an option profile and select Authentication in the scan settings. Provide the other scan details.

If the Scanner Appliance box displays Scanner Appliance not available, you must create a scanner appliance. For more information, see Configuring a Scanner Appliance and a Virtual Scanner.

3. After the scan is complete, view the scan results.

   If the scanner appliance successfully authenticated with a target machine by using the credentials from the secret in Secret Server, the scan results shows that that host passed authentication.
