Integrating Microsoft Entra ID for MFA with Server Suite
At the end of 2023, Microsoft completed the change of their product name from Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD or ADD) to Microsoft Entra ID (Entra or Entra ID).
Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft's cloud-based identity and access management service, provides authentication, access control, and identity-related services for both cloud and on-premises applications. This integration allows for user one-time authentication using their Microsoft Entra ID credentials, to access Server Suite applications without needing separate login credentials. This enables the user experience to be seamless, eliminating the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords. Additionally, the integration allows for user provisioning and management within Server Suite using Microsoft Entra ID as the primary source of information. This means that user accounts in Server Suite can be automatically created, updated, or deactivated based on changes made in Microsoft Entra ID, ensuring that user accounts in Server Suite are always synchronized with Microsoft Entra ID. This reduces administrative overhead and improves security.
