“Please Enter a Valid URL” Error

Scenario

You can receive the message “Please Enter a Valid URL” after you enter an IP address into the Delinea Server URL box.

Resolution

Use a fully qualified domain name instead of an IP address.

  1. Click Save.

  2. If the problem persists, follow these steps:

    • Get the fully qualified domain name of the machine.
    • Search for the etc/hosts file on the machine. In Windows, the path of this file is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.
    • Add an entry with the IP address and the FQDN of the machine to the hosts file (see an example below) and restart the machine.

"ERROR API: YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO USE THIS FEATURE" Error

Scenario

The Helper window gives this error if you're trying to log in your Secret Server instance by using the credentials of a user that is not an application account in Secret Server.

Resolution
