Configuring the Delinea Platform

To configure the Delinea Platform for the integration with ScreenConnect, ensure that you have the following ready:

  • Delinea Platform user to use for the integration.

  • A secret in Secret Server on the Delinea Platform to store the credentials that you will use to log in to a remote machine.

The following discusses these configuration requirements in more detail.

When accessing a remote machine from ScreenConnect, you must provide the user name and password of a Delinea Platform user (a local user or a service user) to log in to the platform and access secrets in Secret Server on the Delinea Platform. If you want to use a service user, you can use an existing service user or create one. For detailed information about creating a service user, see Service Users in the Delinea Platform documentation.

The user's role in the Delinea Platform must have the View Launcher Password on Secrets and View Secret permissions. For information about how to view the user's role, see Managing User Accounts in the Delinea Platform documentation (go to the "Roles Tab" section on the page). For information about how to view the permissions assigned to a role, see Roles and Permissions in the Delinea Platform documentation (go to the "Editing Role Permissions" section on the page).

When connected to a remote machine, you retrieve the credentials to log in to the machine from a secret in Secret Server on the Delinea Platform. Make sure that the secret is shared with the Delinea Platform user that you use for the integration. If you use a service user, grant the service user the View permission for the secret and make sure that the user has the View permission for the folder that contains the secret. For more information about secrets and folder permissions in the Delinea Platform, see Vaulting Secrets on the Platform in the Delinea Platform documentation.

You can use any secret template for the secret.
