Changing SQL Server Connection Parameters

This topic only applies to Secret Server On-Premises.

Once Secret Server is installed, it may be necessary to change the connection string that Secret Server uses to connect to its database. You must be authenticated to access Secret Server and have the Administer Configuration role permission.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Database. The Database Configuration page appears.

  2. Click Edit. The page enters edit mode.

  3. Edit the parameters as desired.

  4. Click the Save Database Connection Settings button. A confirmation message appears. Secret Server recycles its application pool (needed to clear the connection string cache), and then returns you to the Secret Server dashboard.
