Browser Extension Inventory Reports

Delinea reports on browser extension inventory data on Windows and macOS endpoints. Two reports are directly accessible from the Reports in the Administrative tools. These reports give you a complete picture of browser extension usage across your organization, down to individual machine and user detail.

Browser Extensions by Computer (Per-Machine Detail)

The Browser Extensions by Computer report provides a per-machine, per-user, per-extension view. Each row represents a single extension installation on a specific computer, for a specific user, in a specific browser and browser profile. This level of detail is useful for auditing a specific machine or investigating which users have a particular extension installed.

Columns

Column Description
Computer Name The name of the computer where the extension is installed. Click this value to navigate to the computer resource page.
Browser Extension Name The localized display name of the extension in browser suffix format. Click this value to navigate to the Extension Resource Detail View.
Browser The browser the extension is installed in (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
Browser Profile The name of the browser profile where the extension is installed. Browsers support multiple profiles per user, and this column identifies which profile contains the extension.
User The user whose browser profile contains the extension. The value displayed is the name of the user resource the agent reported, not a raw SID or raw account string. The agent reports a resource reference to the user, and the server resolves that reference to the user resource's display name for the report.
Installed Version The version of the extension installed on this specific machine for this specific user.
Enabled Whether the extension is currently enabled or disabled in the browser profile.
Install Source How the extension was installed: web store (user installed from the browser's extension store), side-loaded (manually loaded from a file), or enterprise policy (installed via browser management policy).
Risk Score The risk score assigned to this extension.
Risk Level The categorical risk label (Low, Medium, High, or Critical).
AI Classification The AI detection classification for this extension: Confirmed, Suspected, or blank.

Filters

Columns in this report can be sorted and filtered using the report grid's standard column controls. Use the filter row or column header menus to narrow results by computer name, User, browser, install source, or any other visible column.

Use Cases

The Browser Extensions by Computer report is particularly useful for:

  • Machine audits - Filter by Computer Name to see every extension installed on a specific endpoint across all users and browsers.

  • User audits - Filter by User to see what extensions a specific user has installed across all machines they use.

  • Install source analysis - Filter by Install Source to find side-loaded extensions, which may indicate users bypassing web store controls.

General Report Behavior

Sorting

Reports support column-based sorting. Click a column header to sort ascending by that column. Click the same column header again to toggle to descending sort. The current sort column and direction are indicated by an arrow icon in the column header.

Throughout all reports, certain column values act as navigation links:

Browser Extension Name - Click to open the Extension Resource Detail View for that extension. This provides detailed information about the extension's identity, permissions, and installation footprint.

Computer Name - Click to open the computer resource page for that endpoint. This provides access to the computer's full detail view, including agent status, policies, and other management information.
