Product Relationships and Reports

This is for the web-based desktop/laptop platform and does NOT include any mobile applications.

As of time of this writing, Secret Server and Privilege Manager products have their own separate accessibility conformance reports.

Delinea Note about WCAG Versions

We at Delinea anticipate WCAG 2.2 entering normative W3C Recommendation status in April 2023 and becoming a normative industry standard, which would affect criteria going forward in future VPATs or future updates. WCAG 2.2 does not deprecate or supersede WCAG 2.1. However, we foresee a period of time when Delinea will use WCAG 2.1 and be simultaneously working in criteria from WCAG 2.2 once version 2.2 reaches W3C Recommendation status. For further guidance and explanation, and to see what criteria would be different or any change notes, refer to the WCAG version 2.2 guidance from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

The standard we use for in-house testing is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at levels A and AA. The International template of this accessibility conformance report includes Revised Section 508 and EN 301 549 for ease of reference for our clients, as we are a global company.

Platform Continuous Integration

This is the baseline evaluation for Platform, evaluating features and functionalities that were present in the production version and testing as of February 2023 with another round in May 2023. We are taking some time to examine our processes to better account for a continuous release/continuous integration schedule and how this may impact accessibility reports in the future, especially as features get integrated into the product by multiple teams. Thank you for your patience.

Workaround: Keyboard and Detail Panel in User Reports (Secrets-User Audit)

The details panel is outside of the data table. We are improving this experience for keyboard users, but in the meantime, use ESC to navigate away from the data table, and then use Tab to navigate to the details panel.

Workaround for Navigation Menu

The main navigation is coded as a submenu. The focus order therefore seems to "skip" from the start of the menu to the "expand/collapse navigation pane" button to enable people to expand/collapse the pane to better focus on their main tasks; using arrow keys from the start of the menu instead of Tab however will ensure that the navigation items can be navigated via keyboard. A keyboard "Skip to" function is in the application as well. The keys are considered within standard keyboard functionality range, even if order is not expected, and the order/fix is in planning stages.

Session Recordings

Session Recording feature (in Audits) currently relies on sight. Event logs in text/transcript and increased ease of use improvements are planned to be added in the immediate future.

As of 6/20/2023, known issues with Session Recordings:

  • The “Play Selected Sessions” when selecting multiple session recordings to view in more detail has issues with keyboard navigation; this is a known bug that is in priority fixes.

  • Details view for each recording brings up an auto-playing video. Controls on this video can be navigated to with a keyboard, including pause/stop controls.

Evaluation Methods Used

Manual testing included: manual keyboard testing on both Mac and Windows operating systems; manual testing using NVDA screen reader and using JAWS for Windows screen reader for triangulation.

Testing of random screens involving common tasks, such as setup, was done in MacOS Ventura using VoiceOver.

Automated testing included: automated testing in linter processes and testing frameworks against WCAG 2.1 Success Criteria. Axe-core by Deque rulesets were used as well as tools such as the WebAIM Color Contrast Checker tool.
