Viewing Secrets

Viewing the details of a secret allows you to access important information and manage your data.

To view a secret: 

  1. Select the secret you want to view.

  2. Tap the menu icon next to the secret's name.

  3. To edit your secret, select one of the following: 

    • Edit Secret

    • Add to Favorites

    • Move Secret

    • Download Secret

    • Deactivate

    • Cancel

Requesting Access to Secrets from Credential Manager Mobile

You can request access to secrets that require approval directly from Credential Manager (mobile).

To request access to secrets using Credential Manager (mobile):

  1. Open Credential Manager mobile.

  2. Navigate to a secret that requires an access request.

  3. Tap Request Access.

  4. Fill out the access request form.

    1. Set the start and end date and time of the request.

    2. Provide comments to justify the request.

  5. Submit the request.

  6. If needed, repeat steps 3-5 to submit multiple requests.

  7. Once your access is approved, you will receive a notification, and the access period begins.

  8. To view and launch your secret, tap the bell icon, and then tap the History tab,

Approving Access Requests

Use the Access Requests screen in Credential Manager (mobile) to review and approve pending access requests. You can switch from the Pending to the History tab to manage current and past requests.

If you click an email link from your mobile device and have Credential Manager installed, the request opens in the mobile app instead of a browser window.

To approve access requests:

  1. In Credential Manager (mobile), tap the bell icon.

    The Access Requests screen opens to the Pending tab, but you can switch to the History tab to view previous requests.

  2. Select Approve or Deny.

    A panel appears. You must enter a comment, and you have the option to change the start and end times for the request.

    The Pending tab lists all requests that need approval, including any requests you submitted and are waiting on. Requests display in the order created, regardless of type.

  3. Tap Done.

You cannot change access requests from the History tab, but you can view past requests or secrets. For approved access requests, go to the History tab to view or launch the secret.

Accessing Secrets Guarded by MFA

Credential Manager enables you to authenticate your identity to access MFA-protected secrets.

To access secrets guarded by MFA: 

  1. In Credential Manager (mobile), navigate to a secret protected by MFA.

  2. When prompted, tap Challenge to initiate the MFA process.

  3. Select your preferred authentication method.

  4. Complete the MFA challenge and tap Approve.

  5. Once authenticated, you can access and view the secret details.

Accessing Secrets Guarded by QuantumLock

QuantumLock provides an additional layer of security for your secrets, ensuring that your critical information remains protected.

To access secrets guarded by QuantumLock:

  1. Select the secret you want to access. The QuantumLock screen appears.

  2. Enter your QuantumLock password and tap Continue.

  3. After entering the correct password, you gain access to the secret.
