Adding Certificates
When using the Delinea Mobile app, you may encounter login issues on your iOS or Android device because your device does not trust the certificate for your Secret Server or the Delinea Platform instance.
In most cases, you can resolve this by installing the server's certificate on your device. This section explains how to add certificates to your iOS or Android devices.
Installing a Certificate on an iOS Device
You typically need to install a Secret Server or Delinea Platform certificate after initial configuration or when replacing an expired or re-issued certificate. This process includes downloading the certificate on your iOS device, installing the profile, and then trusting the certificate to ensure secure access.
Downloading a Certificate on an iOS Device
Downloading certificates to your iOS device provides you with secure authentication when accessing the Delinea Platform or Secret Server.
To download a certificate on your iOS device:
-
Open your Delinea Platform or Secret Server URL in the Safari browser of your iOS device.
-
Tap the Download SSL Certificate button.
-
When the message 'This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?' appears, tap Allow.
-
After the next message appears saying 'Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it,' tap Close.
Installing the Profile on an iOS Device
When you download a authentication profile, you'll need to install it through your iOS device's Settings app to apply its settings and permissions.
To install the profile on your iOS device:
-
Open the Settings app.
-
Tap Profile Downloaded underneath the User details for the device.
-
When the Install Profile screen appears, tap Install in the top right-corner.
-
Enter your passcode if prompted.
-
When you see a certificate warning, tap Install.
-
If you see a second prompt, tap Install again.
-
-
When the Profile Installed screen appear, tap Done.
Trusting the Certificate on an iOS Device
Your device must trust the certificate before you can use it.
To trust the certificate on your iOS device:
-
Go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings on your device.
-
Find the certificate you just installed in the Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates section. Tap the slide button next to the certificate.
-
When you see a confirmation dialog, tap Continue.
Installing a Certificate on an Android Device
You must typically install a Secret Server or Delinea Platform certificate after you first configure them, or when you need to replace an expired or re-issued certificate.
The steps vary depending on your device, but the process is generally similar.
To install a certificate on an Android device:
-
Obtain the certificate file (such as .crt, .pem, or .p12) by downloading it from an email, a website, or your administrator.
-
Save the certificate on your device, either in internal storage or on an SD card.
-
Open your Android device's Settings app.
-
Select Security & Privacy, Biometrics & Security, or a similar option, depending on your device.
-
Select Install a certificate.
-
Choose the CA certificate type, then select the certificate file you saved. Enter your password or PIN if prompted.
-
Go to Encryption & credentials, Trusted credentials, or a similar option to confirm the certificate is installed.
