Adding Certificates

When using the Delinea Mobile app, you may encounter login issues on your iOS or Android device because your device does not trust the certificate for your Secret Server or Delinea Platform instance.

In most cases, you can resolve this by installing the server's certificate on your device. This document explains how to add certificates to your iOS or Android devices.

Installing a Certificate on an iOS Device

You must typically install a Secret Server or Delinea Platform certificate after you first configure them, or when you need to replace an expired or re-issued certificate.

Downloading a Certificate on an iOS Device

Downloading certificates to your iOS device provides you with secure authentication when accessing Delinea Platform or Secret Server.

To download a certificate on your iOS device:

  1. Open your Delinea Platform or Secret Server URL in the Safari browser of your iOS device.

  2. Tap the Download SSL Certificate button.

  3. When the message 'This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?' appears, tap Allow.

  4. After the next message appears saying 'Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it,' tap Close.

Installing the Profile on an iOS Device

When you download a authentication profile, you'll need to install it through your iOS device's Settings app to apply its settings and permissions.

To install the profile on your iOS device:

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Profile Downloaded underneath the User details for the device.

  3. When the Install Profile screen appears, tap Install in the top right-corner.

  4. Enter your passcode if prompted.

  5. When you see a certificate warning, tap Install.

    1. If you see a second prompt, tap Install again.

  6. When the Profile Installed screen appear, tap Done.

Trusting the Certificate on an iOS Device

Your device must trust the certificate before you can use it.

To trust the certificate on your iOS device:

  1. Go to Settings > General > AboutCertificate Trust Settings on your device.

  2. Find the certificate you just installed in the Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates section. Tap the slide button next to the certificate.

  3. When you see a confirmation dialog, tap Continue.

Installing a Certificate on an Android Device

You must typically install a Secret Server or Delinea Platform certificate after you first configure them, or when you need to replace an expired or re-issued certificate.

To install a certificate on a Pixel or OnePlus device:
  1. Open your Delinea Platform or Secret Server URL in the Chrome browser of your Android device.

  2. Download the certificate onto your Android device.

  3. Navigate to Network and internetWi-FiWi-Fi preferences. Tap Advanced to get the Install certificates option.

  4. Select the file you downloaded.

  5. On the Name the certificate screen, give the certificate a name and tap OK.

  6. You can verify that the certificate is installed by tapping SettingsSecurityTrusted CredentialsUser.

To install a certificate on a Samsung M32 Version 11 device:
  1. Download the certificate.

  2. Tap SettingsBiometrics and SecurityOther Security Settings.

  3. Tap Install Device Storage.

  4. Tap CA Certificate.

  5. When the privacy popup appears, tap Install Anyway.

  6. Tap the certificate for your Delinea Platform or Secret Server instance. Tap Download.
