Offboarding
This section describes platform offboarding and data retention.
Data Retention and Deletion Timeline
-
At the end of a customer’s subscription, the instance enters a 30-day grace period.
-
After the grace period, the instance is marked as Scheduled for Deletion.
-
While we do not automatically delete the tenants on a date specified after a grace period ends, we do delete tenants at our discretion once that date is passed.
-
Upon deletion, all data is permanently destroyed and cannot be recovered.
Customer-Initiated Deletion Process
The Tenant Owner can request deletion at any time through the following process:
-
Submit the Request: The Tenant Owner emails support@delinea.com.
-
Complete the Form: A “Tenant Deletion Form” must be filled out and submitted.
-
Internal Scheduling: Support creates a request via Azure DevOps to the provisioning engineering team.
-
Freeze Period: A 5-day read-only period is scheduled before deletion.
-
Final Deletion: Engineering executes the deletion.
-
Documentation: Product Management updates internal records.
-
Closure: Support communicates the outcome to the customer and closes the request.
Identity Protection Integrations
For any identity protection integrations, it is the customer’s responsibility to remove any installed components or credentials on their systems, including the following:
-
On-premise engines
-
Access credentials (e.g., AWS IAM roles, access tokens)
-
Applications or services configured during integration
The removal process is simple and can be completed by reversing the installation steps provided in the documentation. Please refer to the appropriate documentation for your integration type.
Additional Information
-
Only the verified Tenant Owner can initiate deletion.
-
The process typically takes 14–21 business days, depending on response times and required approvals.
-
Once deleted, data cannot be recovered.
-
If customer consent is not provided, the deletion will not proceed.
