Enabling Incognito Mode

When you enable incognito or private mode for your browser and secret launches, you protect your credentials by preventing storage or exposure during private browsing sessions.

To enable incognito mode:

  1. On the secret that uses the secret template in Secret Server, enable the setting Web Launcher requires Incognito Mode.

  2. In your browser settings, on the extensions management page, enable the following settings:

    • Chrome: Allow in incognito

    • Edge: Allow in InPrivate

    • Firefox: Run in Private Windows

  3. Login to Credential Manager.

When you enable incognito mode, launching a secret opens a new incognito window if one isn’t already open. If you try to autofill on a site that isn’t in an incognito window, you’ll be prompted to open that site in incognito.
