If Connection Manager crashes when launching an RDP session for a user whose Active Directory account has Smart card is required for interactive logon enabled, create a new string value called SmartCardForceUse in the AdminConfig or UserConfig registry key and set the value to True.

This setting applies to Windows only. Restart Connection Manager after editing the registry for the change to take effect.
