Installing Connection Manager for All Users on a Machine

  1. Download the Windows Installer File (MSI) for Connection Manager.

  2. Double-click the MSI file to start the install process.

  3. Click Next to continue.

  4. Click Install for all users of this machine.

  5. The default installation path will already be filled in, but you can change it to another location.

  6. Click Next to confirm the location and accessibility for the install.

  7. Click Install to start the installation. A progress bar will be displayed while the installation is in progress.

  8. If you would like to launch Connection Manager when the installation is complete, make sure the Launch Delinea Connection Manager box is checked before clicking Finish.

The install is complete, and the Connection Manager icon will be added to the desktop for easy access.

Installing Connection Manager Per User

  1. Download the MSI Windows Installer File (MSI) for Connection Manager.

  2. Double-click the MSI file to start the install process.

  3. Click Next to continue.

  4. Click Install for all users of this machine.

  6. Click Next to confirm the location and accessibility for the install.

  7. Click Install to start the installation. A progress bar will be displayed while the installation is in progress.

  8. If you would like to launch Connection Manager when the installation is complete, make sure the Launch DelineaConnection Manager box is checked before clicking Finish.

The install is complete, and the Connection Manager icon will be added to the desktop for easy access.

Per user installation is only possible if Connection Manager was not previously installed for all users of a machine. Otherwise, you will see the following error:

If you previously installed Connection Manager per user, but later on an administrator installed Connection Manager for all users of a machine, the per machine installation overrides the per user installation. You will have two instances of Connection Manager installed, but you will no longer be able to access the one installed per user.

Updates

When the Connection Manager application is launched, users are prompted with an update message if a new release is available. If you would like to update, click Update or choose Remind me later. Starting with the 2.7 release, the update window will also contain a link to the release notes of the latest version. Once the update is complete, Connection Manager will launch automatically.
